Alderpoint
Alderpoint is a small rural community situated approximately 226 miles north of San Francisco, and east "over the hill" from the town of Garberville. About 230 families call Alderpoint home. It is nestled in a small valley just 600 feet in elevation. The Alderpoint Community Center is the heart of this small town, providing social services as well as being a friendly place for folks to gather.

Blocksburg
Blocksburg is located an hour from Garberville and 20 minutes or so from Alderpoint. The road leading to Blocksburg is narrow and crooked, but provides a beautiful view of the hills of Humboldt County. The community is diverse, consisting of ranchers, farmers, loggers, retirees, and folks who have escaped the big city. There are fewer than 50 people living in town, but there are as many as 100 families living in the outlying area who consider Blocksburg home.

Fort Seward
Ft. Seward is one of the most pristine and breathtakingly beautiful places in Southern Humboldt. Once a military fort dedicated to protecting white settlers from the indigenous peoples, it became a railroad town in the early part of this century. It is currently a privately owned cattle ranch.

Garberville
Garberville is a small town located 205 miles north of San Francisco on Highway 101. Its sister town of Redway is just two miles up the road. The combined population of Garberville and Redway is approximately four thousand. Garberville is the cultural and economic center of the remote and beautiful southern end of Humboldt County. Cultural activities include presentations of Shakespeare, jazz, craft fairs and theatre arts. The South Fork of the Eel River flows along both towns and provides locals with some great swimming holes.
