Osprey Learning Center, Garberville
Osprey Learning Center is located in the town of Garberville, CA, population 1200, 205 miles north of San Francisco on Highway 101. Osprey serves students at every grade level from every community in a rural school district the size of Rhode Island. The school was established to serve as an alternative placement for students whose learning styles, lifestyles or personal beliefs make attendance at a traditional school difficult or unsatisfactory. Osprey currently serves 150 K-12 students, half of which live on rural homesteads. The school also houses the Southern Humboldt Adult Education school, which serves 40 students.
